  • SHORT RESUME

Anna Esteve holds a PhD in Catalan Studies and is a lecturer in the Department of Catalan Studies at the University of Alicante. She is a member of both the Cross-sectional Studies Group — with which she has participated in the organisation of several international seminars — and of the UA Contemporary Literature Research Group. Se has also been a member of different research projects focused on the study of Catalan autobiographical literature (2003-2014), under which she has co-authored several monographs; the most recent, Aproximación al otro / An approach to the other. Biografías, parecidos y retratos / Biographies, resemblances and portraits (John Benjamines, 2015). She has currently participated in the research project: “Los espacios virtuales para la promoción del libro y la lectura”, directed by lecturer Gemma Lluch (UV), where she focuses on the study of blogs as a tool for promoting reading. She has also been an advisor to the Valencian Foundation for books and reading promotion (Fundación por el Libro y la Lectura) in the preparation of the Valencia Region Reading Plan.

Her main lines of research are current Catalan literature (especially autobiographical literature), teaching methods for children's and youth Catalan literature, in which field she teaches a course at the Faculty of Education. She is currently the Vice Dean for Quality Standards and Language Policy in this same Faculty.

Among her published works, the academic essay El dietarisme català entre dos segles (Serra d'Or Award, 2011) stands out, as well as the collective volumes in which she has made contributions: El compromís literari en la modernitat. Del període d`entreguerres al postfranquisme (1920-1980) (2016) and ¿Cómo leemos en la sociedad digital (2017). Likewise, she has co-authored several studies in collective volumes as well as articles in international journals (Caplletra, Revista de Filología Románica, Catalan Review, L'Espill, Quaderns de Filologia, etc.).
